Hotel: The meeting hotel will be La Fonda on the Plaza located at 100 East San Francisco Street in downtown Santa Fe. Arrangements have been made for a block of rooms to be held, and early reservations are encouraged to avoid disappointment. Room costs will be $149 per night, plus tax, with parking available at $12 a day. There is complimentary internet access.
Reservations must be received by the cut-off date of Friday, August 20, 2010. When registering please identify yourself as a member of the Society for the History of Discoveries. Individual reservation requests will be confirmed only if guaranteed with a valid credit card or deposit by check or money order. La Fonda accepts the following credit cards: American Express/Optima, Diners Club, Discover Card, MasterCard, and Visa. All attendees will be responsible for their own room/tax and incidental charges upon check-out. All sleeping room rates are subject to Lodger’s Tax of 7% and Gross Receipts Tax of 8.0625%, totaling 15.0625%.
Meals: Your registration will include the Sunday, September 12, opening reception and dinner, continental breakfasts and snacks and munchies on Monday and Tuesday, September 13-14, and the SHD Annual Dinner on Monday evening, September 13 at La Terraza Room, La Fonda Hotel. The meeting will end by 1:00 p.m. on September 14.
Transportation: La Fonda on the Plaza was selected as the conference hotel because of its close proximity to the historic plaza, shopping, cultural attractions, restaurants, and everything Santa Fe has to offer.
